BOISE – The Boise State football team remained in the USA TODAY Coaches’ Poll Tuesday (No. 25), extending its streak of consecutive weeks in the rankings to 63.

The streak is the second-longest in the nation, trailing only Alabama’s 66-straight weeks in the Coaches’ Poll.

Although the Broncos remained ranked in the Coaches’ Poll following a 17-13 season-opening loss to then-No. 13 Michigan State, the team fell out of the Associated Press Poll for the first time in nearly four years.

Boise State dropped to No. 26 this week, and had been ranked in the poll since Sept. 21, 2008. The 62-consecutive appearances in the AP Poll marked the second-longest streak in the nation.

Following a bye this week, the Broncos will play their home opener against Miami (Ohio), Sept. 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m., and the game will be nationally-televised by NBC Sports Network.
