Day 21: Newcomer of the Day
Aug. 26, 2015

BOISE, Idaho - As Boise State continues to prepare for next Friday's season opener against Washington, the Bronco newcomers continue to prepare for their debuts. Thursday's Lithia Ford Newcomers of the Day are freshman tight end Matt Pistone and redshirt sophomore safety Kameron Miles.

Miles transferred to Boise State and joined the team in January, as he enrolled for the spring semester. The safety comes to Boise from Butler Community College where he helped lead Butler to an 8-3 record after registering 50 tackles (27 solo) with two pass break-ups and 4.5 tackles-for-loss.

He spent the 2013 season at Texas A&M, redshirting the year following an injury in fall camp. Prior to going to College Station, Miles was a prep standout at West Mesquite High School, where he was a teammate of current Boise State secondary mate Dylan Sumner-Gardner. At West Mesquite, Miles was named a U.S. Army All-American as well as being selected to the All-District 10-4A First Team, 4A All-Region II First Team (TXHSFB), second-team All-Area (Dallas Morning News) and 4A All-State Academic Second-Team.

Pistone joins the Broncos from Yuma Catholic High School in Yuma, Ariz. There, he was a two-way standout and helped lead the Shamrocks to back-to-back state titles in 2013 and 2014. He finished his prep career with 74 catches for 1,036 yards and 26 touchdowns, and as a senior was named to Arizona FCA's 2014 All-State Top 25 (all divisions) Team. Pistone was also a two-time Arizona FCA Division V All-State Team selection (2013-14).

Bronco fans can get to know Pistone a little more below, and can follow the latest updates and behind-the-scenes happenings of Fall Camp as well as with the many Boise State programs by adding us on Snapchat at "broncoathletics" from a mobile device or tablet.
