Day 18: Newcomer Of The Day
Aug. 23, 2015

BOISE, Idaho - The Broncos are less than two weeks away from their 2015 opener against Washington, and are entering the final week of fall camp. As the final week of camp gets underway, Sunday's Lithia Ford Newcomer of the Day is freshman cornerback Darreon Jackson.

At Derby High School in Derby, Kan., Jackson proved himself a multi-threat playmaker as he scored a combined seven touchdowns in defense and special teams in 2014. He was named all-state, the AVCTL-I Defensive Most Valuable Player and first-team all-league on both offense and special teams, while on defense he recorded 126 tackles, five interceptions, two forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. On special teams he returned two punts and two kickoffs for touchdowns.

Jackson played his senior season at Derby after spending his previous varsity seasons at Mesquite Horn High School in Texas. There, as a junior, Jackson was named 5A All-State honorable mention and first-team all-district at outside linebacker after registering 89 tackles, four interceptions, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Bronco fans can get to know Molchon a little more below, and can follow the latest updates and behind-the-scenes happenings of Fall Camp as well as with the many Boise State programs by adding us on Snapchat at "broncoathletics" from a mobile device or tablet.
