Boise State Ranked No. 4 in FWAA Poll
BOISE, Idaho – The Football Writers Association of America released its preseason poll, placing Boise State at No. 4 entering the 2011 season.

The Broncos trailed only Oklahoma, Alabama and Oregon – ranked Nos. 1-3, respectively – in the preseason rankings.

Boise State also opened at No. 5 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 7 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

At the conclusion of every season since 1954, the FWAA awards its No. 1 team the Grantland Rice Trophy. The award is named in memory of the legendary sportswriter, and was the first national championship awarded after college football’s postseason.

The FWAA does not conduct a weekly poll, but presents a Tostitos Fiesta Bowl National Team of the Week each Monday, as selected by a panel of FWAA members.
