BOISE, Idaho – Boise State cornerback Kyle Wilson continues to impress the nation as he has been named to the 2009 Bronko Nagurski Watch List, announced by the FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club.

Wilson is one of 62 players earning preseason recognition for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which is awarded annually to the nation's best defensive player by the FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club. The trophy has been presented since 1993 and is awarded in memory of the legendary Nagurski, an All-America lineman at Minnesota in 1927-29 and a star for professional football's Chicago Bears in the 1930s.

The FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club will announce five finalists for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy on November 18 or 19. The annual banquet will be on Dec. 7 at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte, N.C.

Wilson received the nomination following an outstanding junior season at Boise State, in which he was named first-team All-Western Athletic Conference on defense. He finished 2008 with 35 tackles, five interceptions and 15 passes defended.

In addition to the Bronko Nagurski Watch List, Wilson has earned a number of preseason honors including the following:

Chuck Bednarik Award
Jim Thorpe Award Preseason Watch List
Preseason All-Conference Defensive Player of the Year
Playboy Magazine’s 2009 Preseason All-America Team
Projected first-round draft pick by USA Today
