BOISE, Idaho - For each day of Fall Camp, Bronco football head coach Chris Petersen is going to select one player who had an outstanding practice and reward him as “Coach Pete’s Player of the Day.” Thursday’s Player of the Day is senior quarterback Jared Zabransky.

Zabransky (6-2, 203), who was named to the Maxwell Award Watch List this preseason, ranks fourth on the Bronco all-time lists in career total offense (6,335 yards), career passing yards (5,669 yards) and completions (419). He was also named 11th-best quarterback in the country by The Sporting News heading into this season.

In 2004 Zabransky was named honorable mention All-America by Sports Illustrated and Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year by Collegefootballnews.com.

“I think he’s been doing a nice job, and a really great job scrambling,” Petersen said. “He will be a force with his legs. Without question, he’s been hanging onto the ball better and we’re excited about his play.”
