Fall Camp: Day 10
Aug. 15, 2015
BOISE, Idaho - Boise State has come upon the second weekend of fall camp, and to open it, the Lithia Ford Newcomer of the Day is freshman cornerback Tyler Horton while the coaching staff selected two Campers of the Day: defensive linemen Antoine Turner and Elliot Hoyte.
This weekend also begins the lead up to Friday's (Aug. 21) fall scrimmage, set for 6:30 p.m. The scrimmage is open to the public, admission is free and the first 10,000 fans through the Albertsons Stadium gates receives a 2015 schedule poster.
Turner enters his redshirt senior season at Boise State after appearing in 13 games in 2014. Over those appearances Turner made 13 tackles (seven solo) while adding 1.5 tackles-for-loss, including one in the VIZIO Fiesta Bowl victory over No. 10 Arizona.
Hoyte appeared in all 14 games last season, recording 16 tackles (eight solo) including 3.5 sacks and 4.0 tackles-for-loss. During Boise State's 50-19 victory over Utah State, Hoyte recorded the Broncos' first safety since 2009 when he shared a sack in the end zone.
Horton, Saturday's featured newcomer and a native of Fresno, Calif., was named to the Fresno Bee's "Fab 50" after his senior season in which he hauled in four interceptions and helped lead Edison High School to the Division I SoCal Regional final. The versatile Horton (cornerback, wide receiver, punt returner) preceded that standout senior year with a junior campaign in which he picked off nine passes, returning four of those for scores.
Bronco fans can get to know Horton a little more below, and can follow the latest updates and behind-the-scenes happenings of Fall Camp as well as with the many Boise State programs by adding us on Snapchat at "broncoathletics" from a mobile device or tablet.
