BOISE, Idaho - While double-days are exhausting to even the most veteran of players, Andrew Woodruff didn’t appear to be affected by the long hours as head coach Chris Petersen named the senior his pick for Player of the Day, Wednesday.
“Andrew’s been doing a great job since the start,” said Petersen. “He’s very light on his feet, faster than he’s ever been and is giving us great leadership with the O-Line.”
Entering his senior season, the offensive tackle from Victoria, BC, Canada has already left an impressive mark at Boise State and is expected to continue to impress as he was named to the preseason first-team All-WAC in Phil Steele’s 2008 College Football Preview. In addition, he was named to the Blue Ribbon College Yearbook preseason All-WAC team and received preseason All-WAC honors form Athlon Sports. Last season, Woodruff was a second-round selection (12th overall pick) in the CFL draft by the Montreal Allouettes after starting 11 of Boise State’s games at right guard.broncosports.com
