BOISE, Idaho - Day six of Boise State’s fall football camp was highlighted by the play of a Bronco newcomer as junior college transfer Daron Mackey earned Head Coach Chris Petersen’s nod for Camper of the Day.
“He’s doing a very nice job picking up our system,” Petersen said. “He’s working hard and has great instincts.”
Mackey, a junior linebacker from Bakersfield, Calif., joins the Broncos after two seasons at Bakersfield College. Mackey (6-0, 230) recorded 78 tackles as a sophomore en route to being named third-team JC All-America. He finished his career at Bakersfield with 191 tackles, four interceptions and five forced fumbles.
