The Broncos went through their first Fall Camp practice as a team Wednesday, after spending the first four days split into two sessions – veterans in the morning and newcomers and select veterans in the afternoon.

Boise State also practiced in full pads for the first time this season, with the offense wearing white jerseys and orange pants, and the defense wearing orange jerseys and blue pants.

Head coach Chris Petersen also met with the media for the first time during camp, and the press conference was streamed live free of charge at BroncoSports.com.

CAMPER OF THE DAY…

Following the fifth day of Bronco Fall Camp, Coach Pete named redshirt senior linebacker Tommy Smith the Camper of the Day.

“Tommy has been extremely focused thus far in camp,” Petersen said. “He has been working extremely hard and is playing very physical football right now.”

Smith, from Atlanta (North Atlanta HS), has played in 12 games in each of his previous three seasons with the Broncos. He has 67 tackles (36 solo) since his debut campaign in 2009, and also started for the Broncos at fullback in 2011.

SEEN AND HEARD…

Chris Potter on the growth of the young wide receivers:
"They've been doing a great job when they're out on the field, but I think even bigger is they've been doing a great job in the film room. Now that (the veterans) have been here for a couple years, we've been trying to help those younger guys. They've been good. They go home every night and they study their playbook and they dig right into it."
