Day three of Fall Camp is in the books for the Boise State football team. Both practice sessions – veterans in the morning, newcomers and select veterans in the afternoon – were held on grass for the first time this season.

The team put shoulder pads on for the first time Monday, and after one more day in shells the entire team will come together in full pads Wednesday.

CAMPER OF THE DAY…

Following the third day of Bronco Fall Camp, Coach Pete named redshirt senior defensive lineman Darren Koontz his Camper of the Day.

“Darren had a really nice day,” Petersen said. “He was playing physical and much faster, and he was nice and disruptive today.”

Koontz has appeared in 20 games the last three seasons after being named the Ultimate Blue Blood in 2008, an award given to the most dedicated player redshirting the season.

SEEN AND HEARD…

Trevor Harman on what he's focusing on in practice:
"I've basically just been working on my technique to try to be as consistent as I can. I'm trying to get better each and every day and I feel like it's going great."

Corey Bell on the opportunity to battle for a larger role:
"I just have to remember that I'm blessed to be here. It's a great opportunity just to be in the situation that I am. I was expecting to grayshirt last year...Just remember that and take it one practice at a time. Don't get too overexcited about the last practice or too ready for the next one."

NOTE OF THE DAY…

Boise State is the first program since 1900 to win 12-or-more games in four-consecutive seasons. The Broncos went 12-1 in 2008, 14-0 in 2009, 12-1 in 2010 and 12-1 in 2011. USC (2003-05) and Oklahoma (2002-04) are the only other teams to win 12-or-more games in at least three-straight seasons.
