The Boise State football team took the practice fields for the first official day of the 2012 season Saturday, with veterans practicing in the morning and select veterans and newcomers practicing in the afternoon.
Boise State will continue with this practice format for the next three days before coming together for the first time Wednesday. The Broncos were in helmets, shorts and t-shirts, and will be in the same attire Sunday before practicing in shells Monday and Tuesday. The first day of practice in full pads will take place Wednesday. CAMPER OF THE DAY: Coach Pete will again name a Camper of the Day during the 2012 version of Bronco Fall Camp, and the debut recipient was sophomore nickel Corey Bell. “Corey had a great summer and came into camp in good shape,” Petersen said. “Mentally, he is really on top of things right now.” Bell played in the Broncos’ final eight games of the 2011 season after burning his redshirt against Colorado State (Oct. 15). The former Capital High School standout primarily saw action on Boise State’s special teams units, but also saw action at nickel. He recorded nine tackles on the season (five solo), and recovered a fumble against San Diego State (Nov. 18). --broncosports.com-- |
