BOISE, Idaho Bronco football Head Coach Chris Petersen selected Sione Tavake as his Player of the Day for Friday. For each day of Fall Camp, Petersen is going to select one player who had an outstanding practice and reward him as “Coach Pete’s Player of the Day.”

Tavake is a junior college transfer from Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif., where he played fullback and rushed for 188 yards and eight touchdowns. The 6’1, 270-pound Tavake, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, is slated to play defensive line for the Broncos.

“Tavake is physically very, very impressive,” Petersen said. “He is learning our system rapidly, and every day he’s been out here he’s gotten a little bit better. If he continues his progress, he will be a definite factor come early September.
