BOISE, Idaho With the start of another year of Fall Camp, all players are out to impress the coaching staff and show they deserve playing time, but on the first day of practice, freshman wide receiver, Austin Pettis stood out above all else. For his outstanding performance coach Chris Petersen named him the Camper of the Day.
“Pettis did a great job making plays, Coach Petersen said. “He doesn’t know the offense like some other guys do but he showed up caught the ball very well and competed very well.”
Pettis, 6’3” and 190 lbs., came to Boise from Lutheran High School in Orange, Calif. As a senior he was named All-Southern Section Team while leading his team to a state championship. He was also named first-team all-league, first-team all-county and third-team all-state.
