2014 Boise State Football Opener Just 37 Days Away

    BOISE, Idaho - Countdown to kickoff for the 2014 Boise State Football season is just 37 days away, when on Aug. 28 the Broncos travel to Atlanta to take on Ole Miss in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game at the Georgia Dome.

    The contest will be televised nationally on ESPN with kickoff set for 6 p.m. MT. Head coach Bryan Harsin will make his debut as Boise State boss against an Ole Miss team that went 8-5 last year and defeated Georgia Tech in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl last Dec. 30.

    The Broncos went 8-5 overall and 6-2 in Mountain West play in 2013, and this season feature seven players who have been named to preseason award watch lists. Headlining this group is redshirt junior running back Jay Ajayi, a preseason candidate for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, Maxwell Award and Doak Walker Award who rushed for 1,425 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2013.

    Also named to preseason watch lists for 2014 were junior cornerback Donte Deayon (Jim Thorpe Award), redshirt senior kicker Dan Goodale (Lou Groza Award), redshirt senior quarterback Grant Hedrick (Davey O'Brien Award), redshirt senior safety Jeremy Ioane (Jim Thorpe Award), redshirt senior wide receiver Matt Miller (Biletnikoff Award) and junior wide receiver Shane Williams-Rhodes (Paul Hornung Award).
