TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-Boise State redshirt sophomore wide receiver Matt Miller was named to the 2012 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List Tuesday, an award given annually to the outstanding receiver in college football. Miller is the only sophomore on the 48-person watch list.
The Biletnikoff Award is presented by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation. The award is named for Fred Biletnikoff, a hall of fame receiver at the collegiate and professional levels. The recipient of the 2012 award will be announced Dec. 6, at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
Miller, a native of Helena, Mont., set Boise State freshman records in all three major receiving categories in 2011 with 58 catches for 647 yards and nine touchdowns. He earned first-team FWAA Freshman All-America honors and was named to the Yahoo Sports Freshman All-America Second Team.
Miller is the fourth Bronco in the past three years named to the watch list, following former Boise State standouts Austin Pettis (2010), Titus Young (2010) and Tyler Shoemaker (2011).
