Shoemaker Named to Biletnikoff Watch List
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State University’s Tyler Shoemaker was named to the 2011 Biletnikoff Award Watch List, awarded annually to the top wide receiver in college football, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club announced Thursday.

Shoemaker was one of two student-athletes from the Mountain West Conference on the 75-player list.

A graduate of Mountain View High School in Meridian, Idaho, Shoemaker played in each of the Broncos’ 13 games as a redshirt junior in 2010, starting eight. He set career highs in catches (32), yards (582) and touchdowns (five) last season. He has now caught 60 passes for 1,037 yards and nine touchdowns during his Boise State career.

Shoemaker was named Boise State’s Pat Fuller Memorial Award winner for academic achievement at the 2010 season-ending banquet. The three-time member of the Western Athletic Conference All-Academic Team graduated in May with a bachelor’s degree in business, and is currently pursuing a graduate degree.

The winner of the Biletnikoff Award will be announced during the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show, Dec. 8. The award will officially be presented to the winner at the annual Biletnikoff Award Presentation Banquet, hosted by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club, Feb. 11.

The award is named in honor of Fred Biletnikoff, an All-American at Florida State University and a member of the Professional Football Hall of Fame. The award has been given out for the past 16 years.

Boise State is slated to open the 2011 season against Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, Sept. 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. (MT) at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga., and the game will be televised by ESPN.
