Athlon Sports Names Boise State No. 4 in Preseason Top-25 Poll

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Boise State was chosen among the nation's elite in yet another preseason poll as Athlon Sports ranked the Broncos No. 4 in the country, and selected 13 players as All-WAC performers.

Athlon Sports predicts Boise State will win the Western Athletic Conference and play in the 2011 Rose Bowl Game. In the three year period from 2007-09, Athlon Sports led all other preseason football magazines in prediction accuracy (Stassen.com analysis of college football preseason publications).

Athlon named quarterback Kellen Moore Second-Team All-America.

"Boise State is already on the map, but this is the season the Broncos can make an enormous splash on the national scene," says Athlon Sports managing editor Mitch Light. "Kellen is a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate, and he has a bunch of quality weapons at his disposal. The opener against Virginia Tech is perhaps the most anticipated non-conference game of the 2010 season."

Moore also joins the All-WAC First Team along with running back Jeremy Avery, wide receiver and kick returner Titus Young, tight end Kyle Efaw, offensive lineman Nate Potter, defensive linemen Billy Winn and Ryan Winterswyk, cornerback Brandyn Thompson, safety Jeron Johnson and punter Kyle Brotzman.

Wide receiver Austin Pettis, center Thomas Byrd, linebacker Aaron Tevis, Brotzman (as a placekicker) and Young (as a punt returner) made the All-WAC Second Team.
