BOISE, Idaho - Recently signed Boise State University football recruit Jay Ajayi of Plano, Texas has been selected to the 2010 Parade magazine's high school All-America team.

A 6-1, 200-pound running back from Liberty High School, Ajayi was one of 53 seniors from 22 states to receive this year's honor which was announced on Feb. 6 (Sunday).

Working with Sporting News, the All-America team was chosen based on both the player's senior year success and his potential to play major college football.

Ajayi rushed for 2,240 yards, averaged 9.9 yards-per-carry, caught 67 passes and scored a total of 36 touchdowns last season to earn second-team all-state honors.  He was voted first-team all-conference for the second straight year in 2010, and was also named the Collin County Player of the Year.

This past November, a local magazine in the Dallas-Fort Worth area selected Ajayi as the second best running back, and the top senior running back, in the Metroplex.  Johnathan Gray, a junior at Aledo High School, was the area's top selection.

As a junior Ajayi gained 1,627 yards rushing, caught 12 passes and scored 20 touchdowns.

He is also a varsity member of the Liberty track and field team and a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.

Ajayi's selection to the Parade magazine All-America team is possibly the first time a Boise State football player has received the honor.
