BOISE, Idaho - Boise State quarterback Montell Cozart will be play in the 2018 SPIRAL Tropical Bowl this Sunday (Jan. 14) in Daytona, Fla., SPIRAL officials announced Tuesday.

The 2018 SPIRAL Tropical Bowl will be played at Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium Sunday at 7 a.m. MT (9 a.m. ET). The game will be streamed live for subscribers at FloFootball.com.

Cozart, who will play for the American team, coached by Todd Littlejohn, completed 62.9 percent of his passes (61-for-97) for 754 yards and 10 touchdowns with just one interception, and ran for 361 yards and four more scores in his lone season with the Broncos after transferring from Kansas in the summer of 2017. The Kansas City native also caught three passes for 45 yards.

Cozart proved a capable signal-caller for the Broncos in 2017, leading a game-clinching touchdown drive in the Sept. 2 season opener against Troy. In that contest, he completed 6-of-9 passes for 50 yards and the game-icing touchdown to Jake Roh late, while also rushing for 36 yards.

A week later, in place of an injured Brett Rypien, Cozart threw for 161 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 72 yards and a score in a 47-44 triple-overtime loss at Washington State. On Sept. 14, he made his first start as a Bronco, accounting for three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) in a 28-14 win over New Mexico. He would go on to throw three more touchdown passes over Mountain West wins against Wyoming and Utah State.

Cozart will be the fourth Bronco all-time to take part in the game, following nickel Mercy Maston, defensive end Rondell McNair, and wide receiver Shane Williams-Rhodes, who all played in the inaugural edition in 2015.
