Winston Venable, a former all-conference standout for the Broncos, is entering his first season as the Boise State football team’s player development coordinator. He will oversee and coordinate all student-athlete programs for the football team, in addition to serving as the program’s academic liaison and community outreach coordinator.

Venable spent two seasons with Boise State (2009-10), earning all-conference honors each season. Following a senior campaign in which he was named first-team All-Western Athletic Conference, Venable signed with the Chicago Bears as a free agent for the 2011 season.

He then went on to play in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes (2012-16), where he was named a CFL All-Star in 2015.

Venable was named to Boise State’s All-Blue Team, a celebration of the greatest players to hit The Blue during its first 30 years. He returned to Boise State to complete his degree following his playing career, earning a bachelor’s in communication in 2017.
