JUNIOR (2017): Named to the All-Mountain West Second Team...included on the preseason watch lists for the Walter Camp Award, Davey O'Brien Award, and Maxwell Award...finished second in the Mountain West with 2,867 passing yards, completed 62.9 percent of his passes (218-for-348) with 16 touchdowns...completed 13-of-23 passes for 160 yards with an interception against Troy (Sept. 2)...went 7-for-8 for 76 yards and led a game-opening touchdown drive before leaving the game at Washington State (Sept. 9)...completed 24-of-42 passes for 285 yards with an interception against Virginia (Sept. 22)...went 12-for-19 for 125 yards and a touchdown with an interception at BYU (Oct. 6)...completed 11-of-19 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown, and had a career-long rush of 31 yards at San Diego State (Oct. 14)...completed 12-of-17 passes for 104 yards, including a long of 22-yards, also rushed for seven yards on four carries vs. Wyoming (Oct. 21)...at Utah State (Oct. 28), threw for a season-high three touchdowns, going 19-for-27 for 260 yards...turned out 20-for-27 day, throwing for 258 yards and two touchdowns, with a long of 44 yards against Nevada (Nov. 4). Rushed twice for nine total yards and caught a 15-yard pass from Cedrick Wilson in the 1st quarter for a 1st down, his first reception of the year and third of his career...was 23-for-43 for 331 yards with four touchdown passes (tying a career high), one interception and a pass long of 48 yards as the Broncos finished off a comeback victory at Colorado State (Nov. 11)...was 16-for-22 for 300 passing yards (second-straight 300+ passing yards game), throwing for three touchdowns and a long of 87, the longest pass play for the program since 2002 vs. Air Force (Nov. 18)...was 22-for-31, passing for 278 yards and a long of 45 in a loss at Fresno State (Nov. 25)...was named Offensive MVP of the MW Championship Game after throwing for 256 yards on 16-of-30 passing with a long of 59 in victory over Fresno State (Dec. 2)...threw for 362 yards and two touchdowns in Las Vegas Bowl victory over Oregon (Dec. 16).
SOPHOMORE (2016): Started all 13 games...named to preseason watch lists for the Davey O'Brien Award, Maxwell Award...named to All-Mountain West First Team for second-straight season...finished year with 3,646 passing yards and 24 touchdowns with a completion percentage of 61.9...led the Mountain West in passing yardage and was second in touchdown passes...completed 22-of-33 passes for 347 yards and a pair of touchdowns at Louisiana (Sept. 3)...threw for 299 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions against Washington State (Sept. 10)...went 19-for-36 for 215 yards and a touchdown at Oregon State (Sept. 24)...threw for 163 yards and a pair of touchdowns against Utah State (Oct. 1)...went 21-for-28 for 391 yards and five touchdowns at New Mexico, with all five scoring tosses and 368 of those passing yards coming by halftime (Oct. 7)...threw for 207 yards and a touchdown against Colorado State (Oct. 15)...threw for 442 yards, his third-career 400-yard passing game, and three touchdowns with a pair of interceptions against BYU (Oct. 20)...caught his second-career touchdown pass, this one going for 33 yards, and passed for 295 yards at Wyoming (Oct. 29)...went 16-for-21 for 219 yards and three touchdowns against San Jose State (Nov. 4)...accounted for five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing) while going 18-for-22 for 338 yards at Hawai'i (Nov. 12)...threw for 316 yards and a touchdown at Air Force (Nov. 25)...threw for 305 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions at the Cactus Bowl against Baylor (Dec. 27).
FRESHMAN (2015): Named Mountain West Freshman of the Year and to the All-Mountain West First Team...appeared in 11 games, starting 10...led Mountain West in passing yards (3,353), total offense (3,276 yards), completions (273) and attempt (429)...was second in the conference in completion percentage (63.6) and touchdown passes (20)...made collegiate debut against Idaho State, going 8-for-9 for 126 yards (Sept. 18)...went 24-for-35 for 321 yards, the most by a Boise State quarterback in his first start since joining the FBS in 1996, and threw three touchdowns at Virginia (Sept. 25)...threw three touchdowns while going 19-for-25 for 271 yards against Hawai'i (Oct. 3)...set career high with 339 yards on 22-for-35 passing with a touchdown at Colorado State...also picked up his first rushing touchdown, from four yards out (Oct. 10)...threw for 299 yards on a season-high 50 attempts at Utah State, but tossed three interceptions with a pair of fumbles (Oct. 16)...threw for three touchdowns and 211 yards against Wyoming (Oct. 24)...set Boise State and Mountain West freshman records with 469 yards passing (fourth-most in Boise State single-game history), also setting season highs in completions (35, third-most in school single-game history) and attempts (52, second-most in school single-game history) at UNLV...threw for two touchdowns and caught the first touchdown of his career, as well (Oct. 31)...set Boise State single-game records with 75 attempts and 41 completions while also throwing for 506 yards (fourth-highest single-game total in school history) and two touchdowns with three interceptions against New Mexico (Nov. 14)...threw for 197 yards and two touchdowns in win at San José State (Nov. 27)...named Poinsettia Bowl Offensive MVP after going 29-for-39 for 377 yards and three touchdowns with an interception against Northern Illinois (Dec. 23).
HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
Consensus four-star recruit, per ESPN, Scout.com, Rivals.com and 247sports...is also a consensus top 15 quarterback nationally by the four recruiting services...member of the Scout 300 (No. 218)...graduated a semester early and enrolled at Boise State for spring semester in 2015...at the time of his signing, rated eighth nationally at his position by Rivals, while 247sports had him ninth and ESPN and Scout each had him 14th...was named the Washington State Player of the Year by the Seattle Times and the Tacoma News Tribune...was also voted the Associated Press 3A State Player of the Year...concluded his career as the state passing leader, amassing 13,044 yards...also combined for 134 touchdowns...the yardage total is also the eighth-most by a quarterback nationally...included were a state single-season record of 4,552 yards during his senior season...also threw 50 touchdowns in his final prep campaign...rushed for 400 yards and a touchdown...over his first three seasons, had already thrown for more than 8,500 yards and 90 touchdowns, breaking the record of 4,965 yards passing in Greater Spokane League games held by his uncle, Super Bowl XXVI MVP Mark Rypien...was honored as the 2013 Junior Male Athlete of the Year, as voted by the Inland Northwest Sportswriters and Broadcasters...earned the recognition in part due to his performance on the gridiron, throwing for 3,266 yards and 46 touchdowns while leading the Highlanders to a share of the Greater Spokane League (GSL) title and a run to the semifinals of the State 3A Tournament...set the state single-game passing yardage record with 613 yards...also threw for eight touchdowns twice, sharing the state single-game record with former Bronco quarterback Kellen Moore...also played baseball for Shadle Park.
