The Broncos advanced to the winner's bracket with a thrilling 62-61 victory against host Hawai'i. Anthony Drmic scored 21 points despite sitting for nearly 10 minutes in the second half with four fouls. Drmic knocked down a three-pointerwith 59 seconds left to erase a one-point deficit and give the Broncos a 62-60 lead. After the Warriors got within one they got one last possession and a desperation three-pointer bounced off the rim as the Broncos survived.

The Gamecocks made it to the semis by handing Saint Mary's its first loss of the season, 78-71. South Carolina had four players score in double figures and shot 58.3 percent from the floor.

On the opposite side of the bracket, No. 17/13 Iowa State advanced with a win against George Mason. The Cyclones will face Akron, after the Zips defeated Oregon State.

Drmic's 21 points moved him from 16th to 12th on the all-time scoring list at Boise State. He now has 1,101 for his career, passing Bryan Defares, Danny Jones, Paul Noonan and Reggie Larry all last night.

This is the first meeting between the two schools on the basketball court. Boise State is 1-4 all-time against teams from the Southeastern Conference. The lone win came last season against LSU (89-70; Dec. 14, 2012). Boise State lost to Kentucky earlier this season and this is the first time playing two SEC teams in the same year.
