BOISE, Idaho – Junior transfer Daequon Montreal recorded the first double-double of his career to lead the Boise State men’s basketball team to a dominating 96-59 win and earn this week’s Bronco Athlete of the Week honors. Montreal had a career-high 16 points and 12 rebounds to help the Broncos get back on the winning track.

The Syracuse, N.Y native led the Broncos in scoring and rebounding off the bench and collected just 21 minutes of playing time.  Montreal took over the paint for the Broncos, who doubled up on Houston Baptist with a 44-22 point advantage in the paint. Of his 12 boards, Montreal had six offensive rebounds, which also was a team-high.

The women’s basketball team will play its only game of the week at 6 p.m. tonight as the first game of a doubleheader at Taco Bell Arena when they take on Seattle.
