DES MOINES, Iowa - Paul Noonan came off the bench to score 20 points, but the Broncos fell 72-69 to Drake Sunday, at the Knapp Center.
After tying the school record with six-consecutive wins to start the season, the Broncos have dropped three straight games, all by a three-point margin.
La'Shard Anderson sparked Boise State to an early lead, scoring six of the team's first eight points. But with less than eight minutes remaining in the opening half, in the midst of a 14-5 run, the Bulldogs claimed their first lead since scoring on the game's first basket.
The Broncos responded with eight-straight points, and ultimately entered intermission leading 29-27.
Drake outscored Boise State 12-4 to open the second period, and was able to extend its lead to 10 with just over four minutes remaining in the game.
Boise State was able to cut its deficit to two with less than a minute remaining, but made free throws by the Bulldogs staved off a Bronco comeback.
Anderson finished with 15 points and a season-high seven assists, while Westly Perryman added 10 points and a career-high eight rebounds.
For Noonan, the performance marked his first 20-point outing since scoring 23 against North Dakota (Nov. 15, 2009).
The Broncos conclude the three-game road trip Friday, at Utah.
