BATON ROUGE, La. - The Boise State men's basketball team's five-game winning streak came to an end Saturday, as the Broncos fell to LSU 64-45 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The Broncos dropped to 8-2 on the season, while the Tigers improved to 6-3.
 
Boise State entered the meeting with the Tigers with a five-game winning streak, tied for the 25th-longest streak in the nation.
 
Freshman Derrick Marks scored a team-high 12 points, and was one of five Broncos with five rebounds. Freshman Anthony Drmic was held scoreless, but did record a game-high four steals.
 
Sophomore Jeff Elorriaga added 11 points for the Broncos.
 
The Broncos began the week ranked ninth-nationally in scoring offense at 84.7 points per game, but the Tigers held Boise State to a season-low 45 points.
 
Boise State was able to grab a lead with 8:42 remaining in the opening half on a 3-pointer from Thomas Bropleh, and extended the advantage to five at 22-17. Boise State was held scoreless for the final 5:21 however, and LSU closed the half on an 8-0 run. The Tigers entered intermission up 25-22.
 
The Broncos went just 8-of-32 (.250) from the floor in the second half, and were still within eight points with six minutes left to play (48-40). But the Tigers closed on a 16-5 run, ultimately extending the advantage to the final margin.
 
The Broncos are on the road again next week, traveling to face Denver Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., and the game will be televised by ROOT Sports.
