DirecTV Wooden Legacy
Thursday, Nov. 26 | 1 p.m. PT | Fullerton, Calif. (Titan Gym)

THE GAME: Boise State men's basketball (2-2) tips off the 2015 DirecTV Wooden Legacy against UC Irvine, Thursday at 1 p.m. PT/2 p.m. MT at Titan Gym on the campus of Cal State Fullerton.

ABOUT UC IRVINE: The Anteaters (4-0) were picked as the favorite in the Big West preseason poll after winning the conference tournament last year and advancing to the NCAA Tournament. UC Irvine leads the all-time series 6-5. This is the first meeting since 2001, Boise State's final season in the Big West.

WOODEN LEGACY: Boise State will play three games in four days at the DirecTV Wooden Legacy. The Broncos will face UC Irvine in the first round. Their second-round opponent will be Boston College or Michigan State and the final day will be against either Arizona, Evansville, Providence or Santa Clara.

TELEVISION: Thursday's game will be televised on ESPNU, which can be found on DirecTV (208), Dish Network (141) and Cable ONE (136). Steve Quis will handle play-by-play duties with Brad Daugherty serving as analyst and Jeff Goodman on sideline.

ON THE DIAL: Catch the game on the Bronco Radio Network, including flagship station KBOI 670 AM. Tim Becwar will be on the call.

THOMPSON STEPS UP: Mikey Thompson has scored in double figures each game this season and is averaging 14.3 per contest. It is the first four-game double-digit scoring streak of Thompson's career. He has also led the Broncos in assists all four games and has 20 assists to just three turnovers on the year.

CONTRAST IN STYLES: Through four games, Boise State is attempting 27.25 three-pointers per game versus UC Irvine's 16.75. The contrast is highlighted by the head-to-head matchup at the five spot where 6-foot-8 Nick Duncan will battle against 7-foot-6 Mamadou Ndiaye.

ON THE SCENE: Boise State's appearance in the DirecTV Wooden Legacy continues a trend of high-profile appearances for the Broncos. The Wooden Legacy is owned and operated by ESPN Events. The group also runs the Diamond Head Classic, where the Broncos were runners-up in 2013. The appearance at the Diamond Head Classic was Boise State's first major early-season tournament appearance since the 2000 Pearl Harbor Classic. The trend will continue in 2016, when the Broncos play in the Charleston Classic.

HIGH PRAISE: Arizona head coach Sean Miller singled out Nick Duncan when speaking to reporters prior to the Nov. 19 matchup between the Wildcats and Broncos, saying "He is one of the great shooters in the game." After Duncan scored 21 points with five three-pointers Miller again spoke about the mismatch Duncan creates. "He's a 6-foot-10 two-guard who defends your center."
