Broncos Make Final Stop at Eastern Washington Before Opening Season at Home
After starting the season on one of the longest stretches of games on the road to open a season, the Boise State men’s basketball team (2-2) makes its final stop before returning home at Eastern Washington (2-2), Tues., Nov. 24, at 7 p.m.

The Broncos have opened the 2009-10 season on the road, marking the longest stretch of road games to open a season since the 1978-79 season when six of Boise State’s first seven games were on the road and went 0-7. This year, the Broncos are already off to a better start as they own a record of 2-2, while seven of their first eight games of the season will be played on the road.

Upon completing this five-game stretch on the road, Boise State will return home to host North Texas, Sat., Nov. 28 at 7 p.m.,  in its first regular season home game of the season.  The Broncos have proven that Taco Bell Arena can be just as intimidating a place to play as the Blue as they posted a record of 13-3 at home last year alone. In fact,  over the last six years, the men’s basketball team owns a record of 70-26 at home, for a winning percentage of 72.9 percent.

All-Time Series Notes Against the Eagles...

The All-Time Series:
Historically, the Broncos lead the series against the Eagles 30-6 ...  When playing on EWU’s home court, the Boise State is 12-4 all-time ... The last time Eastern posted a win over Boise State was during Coach Graham’s first season (2002-03) when the Eagles beat the Broncos 65-59 on Boise State’s home court ... The series between the two teams began during Boise State’s inaugural season (1968-69) under coach Murray Satterfield as the Broncos posted an 87-78 win over EWU.

Coach Graham vs. Eastern Washington:  Overall, Greg Graham owns a record of 3-1 against Eastern Washington ... In fact, Graham has not lost to the Eagles since his first season at the helm of the Broncos ... However, the only loss against EWU in the Graham era also marks the last time in which Boise State has played Eastern on its homecourt, making his all-time record when playing the Eagles on the road 0-1.

STARTING STRONG: For the third consecutive season, the Broncos opened the regular season with a win, beating out the Lions 90-87. In each of the last two seasons in which Boise State posted a ‘W’ in its opener, it has gone on to make an appearance in postseason play.  The Broncos are 6-2 in season openers under head coach Greg Graham.

The last two seasons Boise State opened the season with a win, the Broncos posted a nonconference record of 10-6 (2008-09) and 13-5 (2007-08). However, when Boise State has opened the season with a loss, they have posted a nonconference record of 9-6 (2006-07).
