BOISE, Idaho (AP) -Forward Matt Nelson scored 20 points and Reggie Larry added 15 to lead Boise State to a 107-53 non-conference victory over Montana Tech on Wednesday night.
Boise State (2-2) of the Western Athletic Conference took advantage of 0-11 field goal shooting by NAIA Montana Tech (3-6) in the first seven minutes to break out to a 22-0 lead.
Dusan Veselinovic led Montana Tech with 20 points.
The Ore Diggers of the Frontier Conference trailed 52-15 at the half after shooting only 18 percent from the field. Montana Tech showed an offensive burst at the start of the second half, outscoring Boise State 11-4 in the first four minutes on the shooting of Veselinovic.
Boise State ended up shooting 70 percent from the field. Reserve center Kurt Cunningham had 13 points for the winners, Tyler Tiedeman scored 12 and Aaron Garner had 10.
Montana Tech shot just 28 percent for the game and turned the ball over 23 times.
