First Ranked Foe Awaits at Arizona

THE GAME: Boise State men's basketball (1-1) hits the road for a marquee matchup Thursday, at No. 12/10 Arizona (2-0). Tipoff is at 6:30 p.m., and will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.

DOUBLE-DOUBLES: Chandler Hutchison and James Webb III each recorded a double-double Monday, against Northern Arizona. It was the first of Hutchison's career and ninth for Webb. It marked the first time since 2009, two Broncos had a double-double in the same game.

vs ARIZONA: Thursday marks the first all-time meeting between Boise State and Arizona. The Broncos are 8-29 all-time against Pac-12 opponents, including a 2-21 mark on the road.

SEE YOU SOON?: The Bronco-Wildcat matchup is officially a nonbracketed game in the DirecTV Wooden Legacy. Boise State and Arizona will both spend Thanksgiving weekend in Southern California. The teams are on opposite sides of the bracket, but could meet on the final day.

VOLUME SCORER: Anthony Drmic started the season with back-to-back 20-point games, the first time Drmic has hit the plateau in consecutive games since December 2013. Drmic has extended such a streak to three games three times in his career, most recently in November 2013.

TELEVISION: Pac-12 Network will televise the home opener. Daron Sutton will have play-by-play duties alongside analyst Matt Muehlebach. The game will also be streamed at for those with a participating TV provider.

ON THE CALL: The Voice of the Broncos, Bob Behler, is back for his eighth season of calling Boise State men's basketball on the radio. Behler is joined by Bronco great Abe Jackson in his eighth year as the analyst. The game will be carried on the Bronco Radio Network, including the flagship station 670 AM KBOI in Boise. VS RANKED OPPONENTS: Boise State has won three road games against teams ranked in the top 25 of the AP Poll in school history. Two of those wins have come under Leon Rice. The Broncos won at No. 24 San Diego State Feb. 28, 2015. The other such win under Rice came Nov. 28, 2012, at No. 11 Creighton.

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: Thursday will be Boise State's 21st game against a top-25 opponent since Leon Rice took over as head coach. The Broncos played 15 ranked teams in the 17 years prior to Rice's arrival.

QUICK START: Mikey Thompson is averaging 16 points per game off the bench through the first two games of the season. Thompson scored 15 in the season opener at Montana (Nov. 13) and backed that up with 17 in the home opener against Northern Arizona (Nov. 16). It is the first time Thompson has scored in double figures in back-to-back games since November 2014.

AND EFFICIENT: Through two games, Mikey Thompson has 32 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the floor (73.3 percent). Thompson shot 27.4 percent in his 17 games after the calendar turned to 2015 last year.
