BOISE, Idaho Greg Graham, head men’s basketball coach at Boise State University, announced today the signing of Aaron Garner, a 6-foot-4, 184-pound guard from Yuba College in Marysville, Calif.
"Aaron gives us another point guard in the program which we need next year," Graham said. "He’s an athletic 6-foot-3 guard who can handle the ball, run the floor, shoot and is a very good defender. He’s a very solid player. It is the one spot we needed to fill for next year. He was the guy we were looking for, went after and were able to get him."
Garner earned second-team All-Bay Valley League honors as a freshman after averaging 11.2 points, 3.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals on a team that finished 23-10. He was named the team’s defensive MVP. Garner connected on 51-of-127 (40.2 percent) of his 3-point shots.
Garner graduated from River City High School in Sacramento, Calif., where he was named the league MVP after averaging 23 points, five rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. He also earned honorable mention all-city honors and was named to two different area all-star games.
