Three Broncos Score in Double Digits in Boise State's Win Over Concordia
BOISE, IdahoNewcomer La'Shard Anderson led the way for BoiseState with 19 points, while shooting 6-for-6 from the line, in the Broncos 94-77 win over ConcordiaUniversity at Taco Bell Arena, Tuesday.
In addition, Anderson was 3-of-5 from three-point range and dished out a pair of assists for the Broncos. On the defensive side of the ball, Anderson pulled down three boards, nabbed three steals and had a block. The sophomore guard transferred to BoiseState after playing his freshman season at IrvineValleyCommunity College.
Sophomore Paul Noonan added 16 points and seven boards to the Broncos total, while the lone returning starter, junior Anthony Thomas, scored 12 points and five rebounds against the Cavaliers.
BoiseState made 48.6 percent of its shots, including 32.1 from beyond the arc. In addition, the Broncos made 15-of-17 from the charity stripe to shoot 88.2 percent from the line.
The Broncos look to open the 2008-09 season against Pacific, Friday, Nov. 14, at 8:15 p.m. The game will be a double-header, as the BoiseState women’s basketball team opens their season against Seattle as 6 p.m.
