BOISE, Idaho Three players scored in double figures and the Broncos shot a blistering 62.5 percent in the first half as Boise State opened its 2006-07 season with a 103-62 exhibition win over Western Oregon in Taco Bell Arena Thursday night.
Tyler Tiedeman scored 15 of his game-high 17 points before the break as the Broncos built a 54-28 halftime lead. Coby Karl and Matt Nelson each scored 11 points, with Nelson connecting on all four of his field goal attempts.
Ten of Boise State’s 14 players scored at least six points with Eric Lane and Reggie Larry scoring nine, Kurt Cunningham and Anthony Thomas chipping in eight and Colin Hallberg and freshman Paul Noonan adding seven. Matt Bauscher had six points, while Larry led the Broncos with 10 rebounds.
The Broncos, who host Cascade in their final exhibition game Saturday night, shot 52.8 percent from the floor, while outrebounding the Wolves 47-38 and grabbing 10 steals.
