Free Scrimmage Oct. 11 at Bronco Gym

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State men's basketball will host a free scrimmage open to the public Saturday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. in Bronco Gym. It will be the first chance for Bronco fans to see the new-look squad heading into head coach Leon Rice's fifth season. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Get an up-close look at the 2014-15 Boise State men's basketball team in an intimate and entertaining environment. Watch the Broncos run through warm ups before taking the floor for a live scrimmage. There will also be meet-and-greet opportunities following the event.

The Broncos held a similar event last season, drawing a near-capacity crowd of more than 1200 fans.

Boise State welcomes back eight letterwinners from last season, including three starters. Seniors Anthony Drmic and Derrick Marks are back for one final season in the Blue and Orange. Drmic and Marks have been the top two scorers for Boise State each of the last three seasons, and both enter the year in the top 10 on the school's all-time scoring list.

Boise State welcomes five newcomers this season, including three highly-decorated freshmen and a pair of transfers who enjoyed great success at the junior college level. Chandler Hutchison was a consensus four-star recruit out of Mission Viejo High School and ranked No. 80 in the ESPN Top 100 for the class of 2014. Hutchison is believed to be the highest-rated recruit in program history. Forward David Wacker was the Texas 5A Player of the Year last season as a senior at nationally-ranked Converse Judson High School.

The first day of official practice is Friday, Oct. 3. The Broncos open the season with a pair of exhibition games Nov. 1 and Nov. 7, at Taco Bell Arena. The regular-season home opener is Nov. 18, against Montana. Season tickets are available, starting at just $149.
