Graham names Ryan Hellenthal Director of Basketball Operations

Boise, Idaho -- Boise State men’s basketball coach Greg Graham has added Ryan Hellenthal to the men’s basketball staff as the school’s first ever Director of Basketball Operations.

Hellenthal joins the Bronco staff after serving as an assistant coach at Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kan., for the last three years. At Coffeyville, Hellenthal served as the team’s recruiting coordinator as the team compiled a 110-19 record and finished third in the country in 2006-07 while winning the Jayhawk East Conference title. The team also won the league crown in 2005-06 and was ranked in the top 25 all three seasons Hellenthal was on the coaching staff.

Before joining Coffeyville, Hellenthal was an assistant coach at Garden City Community College from 2002-05 where the team averaged 20 wins per season and won its first Jayhawk West Conference championship since 1952.

Hellenthal started his career as a student assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 1998-2002. He assisted in opponent preparation including scouting of opponents, film breakdown and development of game strategies.

At Boise State, Hellenthal will serve as the associate director for Boise State’s boy’s basketball camps, while handling film exchange, on campus recruiting, recruiting correspondence, academics and various administrative duties.
