BOISE, IDAHO --  Highlighted by games against the University of Illinois and Portland State, both coming off of seasons with NCAA Tournament berths, the 2009-10 Boise State men’s basketball scheduled was announced today (Aug. 12) by Boise State Head Coach Greg Graham.

“Scheduling is never easy and seems to be increasingly more difficult each year, so we’ve had to make some adjustments,” said Graham. “We will be spending a lot of time on the road at the start of the year, as we open the season with an exempt tournament at Montana and later travel to Illinois.”

The Broncos will spend most of the month of November on the road as they open their regular season with a three-game tournament hosted by the University of Montana (Nov. 13) where they will face Loyola Marymount (Nov. 14) and the University of North Dakota (Nov. 15).

Before returning to Taco Bell Arena, the men will travel to Wyoming (Nov. 21) to take on the Cowboys, then make a quick turnaround to Cheney, Wash. to face-off against Eastern Washington (Nov. 24).

The first home game of the regular season for the Broncos is scheduled for Nov. 28 against the University of North Texas, before taking to the road for Boise State’s highlighted game of the nonconference season at the University of Illinois (Dec. 5). After traveling to the Midwest, Boise State treks cross-state to Pocatello to take on Idaho State (Dec. 9).

After a long stand on the road, the men open a five-game home stand with the University of San Diego (Dec. 12), followed by the first of five double-headers scheduled for the season with the women’s team as the men take on Houston Baptist kicking it off on Dec. 12.

The final three nonconference games of the season include a double-header with the men facing Portland State (Dec. 21), Montana State (Dec. 23) and Northwest Nazarene (Dec. 29).

“We will face some challenges on both the road and at home during nonconference play, so we need to be ready to play,” Graham added. “Overall, we’re excited about the season and look forward to get into conference play.”

The Broncos open Western Athletic Conference play at Fresno State, Jan. 2.
