MBB Holds First Practice
Aug. 2, 2016

Boise State men's basketball hosted its first practice Tuesday, in advance of the Broncos' foreign trip to Costa Rica. The team welcomes five newcomers this season in addition to three student-athletes who redshirted last year.

NCAA rules allow teams to take a foreign tour once every four years. Teams participating in a foreign trip are also permitted 10 practice dates in advance of the trip. Boise State is expected to use six of those dates before departing for San Jose, Costa Rica, Aug. 11.

The Broncos will travel Aug. 11, before playing four games over the next three days against teams from Costa Rica and Canada. All of the games will be played in San Jose, the nation's capital. The team returns to Boise Aug. 16, after spending the final full day in the coastal town of Playa Herradura. The Broncos will spend their downtime diving into the culture and history of the Central American country.

Tuesday marked the first official practice for Derrick Alston, Marcus Dickinson, Alex Hobbs, Justinian Jessup and Cameron Oluyitan. It also marked the return of Malek Harwell to full practice after suffering a season-ending knee injury in October.
