HONOLULU - Boise State men's basketball will open the 2013 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic against tournament-host Hawai'i, ESPN announced Wednesday. The Broncos and Warriors will square off in the final game of the tournament's opening day Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. locally (11 p.m. Mountain Time) and will be televised on ESPNU.

The Broncos are guaranteed three games at the tournament. They will take the floor Dec. 22, 23 and 25. Boise State joins Akron, George Mason, Iowa State, Oregon State, Saint Mary's and South Carolina as teams traveling to the islands for the event. The Broncos' second game will be against Saint Mary's or South Carolina.

Boise State is 23-23 all-time against the tournament field, including a 12-10 mark against former conference foe Hawai'i. The Broncos have never met Iowa State or South Carolina on the hardwood.

All 12 games at the tournament will be carried on the ESPN family of networks. Eight games will air on ESPNU. The championship and third-place games will be on ESPN2, in addition to the second semifinal--which is the side of the bracket featuring Boise State. The seventh-place game will be streamed on ESPN3.

The Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic is owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television, a subsidiary of ESPN. The tournament has been played annually since its inception in 2009.
