Australia 2-0 at World University Games

KAZAN, Russia - Boise State rising junior Igor Hadziomerovic and the Australia Emerging Boomers dispatched Sweden 70-53 Monday, at the World University Games. Australia is 2-0 in the early going of pool play after defeating the Czech Republic, Sunday.

Hadziomerovic scored five points and grabbed five rebounds in 12 minutes of action. He was 2-for-3 from the field, including hitting his only three-point attempt.

Australia returns to the court Wednesday, against Canada in a battle of unbeatens. The Boomers are tied atop the standings in Group C with Canada and the United States.

Hadziomerovic and Australia will take on Team USA Thursday, in a game that will be streamed live on ESPN3 at 10:30 a.m. (MT) and re-aired at 5 p.m. on ESPNU.

The top two teams from each of the four pools will advance to the quarterfinals and play for first through eighth place. The remaining teams will play for ninth through 24th.
