Australian Broncos Win Again at World U19s

RIGA, Latvia – Despite off shooting performances from incoming Boise State freshmen Anthony Drmic and Igor Hadziomerovic, Australia defeated Brazil 63-57 at the FIBA U19 World Championship, Tuesday.

Australia is currently tied for the Group E lead with Poland, and the two teams will square off Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. (MT). The winner will enter the quarterfinals as the No. 1 seed from Group E.

Drmic and Hadziomerovic combined for just two points in the win over Brazil after entering the game ranked first and 13th, respectively, in scoring at the tournament.

Drmic still ranks second at the World Championship with a 19.0 point-per-game average. He also ranks fourth in field goal percentage (.556; 30-of-53) and leads the tournament in 3-point field goal percentage (.531; 17-of-32).

Drmic chipped in two steals an assist against Brazil, and Hadziomerovic added two assists, two steals and a block.
