New Video Board at Taco Bell Arena Planned for Fall
June 19, 2015

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State University plans to have a new video board and other digital displays installed at Taco Bell Arena prior to the start of the 2015-16 men's and women's basketball seasons, Director of Athletics Mark Coyle announced Friday. During a meeting Thursday, the Idaho State Board of Education approved the university's request to purchase a new video board, four new scoreboards and two closed captioning displays.

"These upgraded digital displays will be a major enhancement to the game experience at Taco Bell Arena," said Coyle. "We needed to make improvements for our fans and make this commitment to our programs that compete in the arena. With our plan approved, we will work hard to meet our goal of having the video board and additional elements installed by the first men's or women's basketball game of the season."

Bronco Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports, will manage the procurement and installation process.

More details, including renderings of the displays, will be released in the coming weeks.

The upgraded features will also be on display when Taco Bell Arena hosts additional marquee events, such as the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament First and Second Rounds. The 2018 games will mark the ninth time Boise State has hosted the tournament, most recently in 2009.

Boise State men's basketball season ticket holders will have first priority to purchase tickets to the 2018 tournament. Season tickets holders for both the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons will have priority over the general public to purchase tickets to the NCAA Tournament.

Season tickets are on sale now for the 2015-16 campaign by visiting or contacting the Boise State Athletic Ticket Office at 208-426-4737.

Men's Basketball Head Coach Leon Rice
"Adding these amenities to Taco Bell Arena will really add a new dimension to the fan experience. It was a much needed upgrade, but the fact we got it done is one more sign of our program continuing to rise. We're really putting together the total package of a championship team in a great conference, with first-class facilities and a tremendous fan base."

Women's Basketball Head Coach Gordy Presnell
"Taco Bell Arena is a great college basketball venue and these upgrades will make it even better. I am really excited about what the video board will add to a game day experience for our fans and our student-athletes."
