White Named Director of Operations

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State men’s basketball head coach Leon Rice announced the hire of Jake White Friday, as the program’s new director of basketball operations. White comes to the Broncos from the New Mexico Military Institute, where he was an assistant men’s basketball coach, as well as a leadership and character development instructor.

At Boise State White will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the basketball office, coordinating travel and equipment, as well as serving as the staff’s point of contact for academics, camps and community involvement.

Prior to NMMI, White held coaching positions at various schools in Texas, including Panola College, Temple High School, Fort Bend Elkins High School and Trinity School. He also worked with the Houston Select AAU program, Shining Star Hoops and the Louisiana Roundballers. While working at the prep ranks, White helped develop more than 20 future Division I basketball student-athletes.

White played at NMMI from 2003-05, before completing his playing career at Texas A&M Kingsville and University of Texas at Tyler. White earned his bachelor’s degree in history from UT Tyler in 2008, and completed his master’s degree in education administration in 2011 at Texas Southern University. He is a native of Longview, Texas.
