GEORGE TOWN, GRAND CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS – Caymax Sports Ltd., in conjunction with Global Sports Management has officially announced the field for the 2018 Cayman Islands Classic. Boise State will be joined by Akron, Clemson, Creighton, Georgia, Georgia State, Illinois State and St. Bonaventure in what will be the tournament’s second year.

The 2018 Cayman Islands Classic will mark the fifth major early-season tournament in six years for Boise State. The Broncos have recently competed in the 2013 Diamond Head Classic, 2015 Wooden Legacy, 2016 Charleston Classic and 2017 Puerto Rico Tip-Off at Myrtle Beach.

Prior to head coach Leon Rice’s arrival at Boise State, the last time the program played in a major early-season tournament was the 2000 Pearl Harbor Classic.

The tournament will take place Nov. 19-21 at the John Gray Gymnasium in George Town, just minutes away from the world famous Seven Mile Beach.

The Broncos have never played Clemson, Georgia or St. Bonaventure.

The Blue and Orange recently defeated Illinois State this past season at the 2017 Puerto Rico Tip-Off at Myrtle Beach, cruising past the Redbirds 82-64 in the first meeting between the two schools.

Boise State’s only previous game against Creighton was a season-defining win in 2012-13, going on the road and upsetting the then-No. 11 ranked Bluejays in Omaha by a score of 83-70.
