Boise, Idaho Boise State’s four seniors swept the team’s postseason honors presented at the annual men’s basketball banquet held on April 1.
Reggie Larry earned team MVP and the Hard Hat Award, for the team’s top rebounder, after finishing the season averaging 19.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. The Newark, N.J., native set Boise State season records with 661 points scored and 244 field goals made. He earned first-team All-Western Athletic Conference honors and was named the MVP of the WAC Tournament.
Matt Bauscher also earned a pair of awards. Bauscher was named the winner of the Jeff Foster Memorial Award, honoring the most inspirational player, for the third straight season, while also being honored as the team’s best defender. Bauscher led the WAC in assist-to-turnover ratio.
Matt Nelson claimed the academic award going to the player with the top GPA on the team. Nelson became Boise State’s first ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America selection earlier this season. Nelson was also named second-team All-WAC in a vote of the league’s coaches.
Tyler Tiedeman was named the Most Improved Player. Tiedeman averaged 13.9 points while making 52.9 percent of his field goal attempts a year after averaging 4.4 points per game. Tiedeman made 84 3-pointers during the season, the second most in school history.
