Boise State is coming off its first postseason victory in nearly seven years after defeating Austin Peay (83-80) at Taco Bell Arena, Tuesday.

With 5.6 seconds remaining and the Governors clinging to an 80-79 advantage, senior guard La’Shard Anderson – one of seven Bronco seniors looking to extend their collegiate careers - sliced through the scrambling defense all the way to the low block before hoisting a shot off the glass. The ball rolled around the rim and fell through with a tenth of a second left on the clock, putting the Broncos in the lead for good.

The bucket moved Anderson beyond the 1,000-point plateau, making him the 21st men’s basketball player in school history to accomplish the feat.

Evansville, one of six teams from the Missouri Valley Conference participating in the postseason, will enter Taco Bell Arena with a record of 16-15 after knocking off Hofstra (77-70) at USI PAC Arena in Evansville, Ind., Tuesday.

Evansville’s win over the Pride marked its first postseason victory since 1989, when it knocked off Oregon State in the NCAA Tournament.
