Three Broncos Honored by MW Media
March 6, 2016

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Three Boise State men’s basketball student-athletes were selected to the media’s All-Mountain West teams. James Webb III was selected to the first team and Mikey Thompson was named third team, while Anthony Drmic was an honorable mention honoree. The Mountain West will announce the all-conference awards as selected by the league’s coaches in the coming days.

During Mountain West play Webb led the Broncos in scoring (16.1 per game), rebounding (9.8 per game) steals (1.6 per game) and blocks (0.7 per game). He was the third-highest vote getter in the media’s all-conference selection process. Webb was a second-team selection last season by both the media and coaches.

Thompson was the only Bronco to start all 18 conference games. The senior finished MW play averaging 13.4 points, 3.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds. This is the first all-conference honor of Thompson’s career.

Drmic earned honorable mention accolades after averaging 12.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. The redshirt senior finished strong, averaging 17.6 points per game over the final seven contests. Drmic earned All-MW recognition each of his four seasons. He was an honorable mention selection in 2011-12 and a second-team choice in 2012-13 and 2013-14. Each of those three seasons, media and coaches combined to vote for one set of All-MW teams.

Every Mountain West market was represented in the media all-conference voting. In markets where more than one outlet covers a team closely, reporters from competing publications put together a joint ballot.

Boise State opens Mountain West Championship play Thursday, in the quarterfinals. The Broncos will tip off at 8:30 p.m. PT/9:30 p.m. MT against either No. 6 Colorado State or No. 11 San José State.
