No. 21/23 Aztecs Spoil Senior Night

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Jamaal Franklin had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead No. 21 San Diego State to a 66-53 victory over Boise State on Wednesday on Senior Night at Taco Bell Arena.

The victory was the third straight for the Aztecs (23-6, 9-4 Mountain West Conference), who is now tied for first place with New Mexico heading into Saturday's regular season finales.

Franklin scored 12 points in the first half as the Aztecs took a 38-22 lead.

Tim Shelton added 11 points and Xavier Thames had 10 for SDSU, which shot 50 percent from the field in its first visit to Boise State.

The Broncos (13-15, 3-10) were just 2-of-16 from behind the 3-point arc and shot 44 percent from the free throw line.

The Broncos made a run early in the second half, cutting the lead to 41-30 when Derrick Marks hit a short jumper with 15:20 left. But Boise State could not get any closer and trailed by 21 points with 8 minutes left.

Marks led the Broncos with 13 points on the night. Kenny Buckner had a team-high six rebounds. Anthony Drmic also scored in double figures with 10.

Boise State seniors Tre' Nichols and Wes Perryman had five and four points, respectively, in their final home games. Perryman also grabbed four rebounds.
