Boise State Game Notes

THE GAME: Boise State looks to stay in the regular-season title hunt Saturday, hosting San Jose State. The Broncos (17-9, 10-5 MW) and Spartans (14-12, 7-8 MW) tip off at 2 p.m. MT, at Taco Bell Arena.

ABOUT SAN JOSE STATE: The Spartans have won seven conference games, their most since 1996. Sophomore forward Brandon Clarke leads SJSU at 17.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Clarke scored 26 in the first meeting against Boise State, including 18 in the first half.
All-Time Series: Boise State leads 29-3. The Broncos took the first meeting of the season, 75-65.

WHERE THEY STAND: With three games to play in the regular season Boise State sits in third place in the Mountain West, one game behind co-leaders Colorado State and Nevada. The Broncos are one-and-a-half games ahead of Fresno State and New Mexico in fourth place.

BYE, BYE, BYE: The Mountain West Championship begins March 8, with three first-round games between the bottom six seeds. Boise State can clinch a top-five seed and a bye through to the quarterfinals (March 9) of the tournament with a win Saturday.

10 WINS AGAIN: Boise State has won 10 Mountain West games each of the last three seasons. It is the second time in school history the Broncos have won 10 league games three straight years (1987-89; Big Sky). It is the 13th time Boise State has recorded double-digit conference wins, the fourth under Leon Rice.

HEATING UP: Boise State has shot better than 40 percent from three-point range in four of its past seven games. The Broncos had eclipsed that plateau just once in the first 19 games of the season.

Broncos Pick Up Road Win at SJSU
David Wacker scored 17 points on 5-of-5 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds, Chandler Hutchison finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, and Boise State topped San Jose State 75-65 in a wire-to-wire win on Saturday.
