Reid Earns All-District Academic Award
Feb. 9, 2017

Boise State men’s basketball senior James Reid was named Academic All-District 7 First Team Thursday, by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Reid is currently working toward his Master of Business Administration. He carries a 3.90 grade-point average in graduate school after earning his bachelor’s degree from Boise State last spring with a 3.87 cumulative GPA.

Reid is Boise State’s third-leading scorer, averaging 9.6 points in 23.2 minutes per game. The Bend, Ore., native has made 42 three-pointers at a 37.5 percent clip. During Mountain West play, Reid has upped his scoring average to 12.3 points per game and is shooting 42.4 percent from beyond the arc.

District 7 encompasses Division I schools in Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming. Reid advances to the Academic All-America ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

The only Bronco men’s basketball student-athlete to earn Academic All-America recognition is Matt Nelson in 2008 (third team).

Of the 42 Division I men’s basketball student-athletes nationally to be named CoSIDA Academic All-District, Reid is one of nine who has already earned his bachelor’s degree and is working on a graduate degree.
