Broncos Prepare for Second Run Through MW

THE GAME: The Boise State men’s basketball team will begin its second run through the Mountain West Saturday, traveling to face Air Force at Clune Arena. Tip-off between the Broncos (10-12, 0-7 MW) and Falcons (11-10, 1-6 MW) is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the game will be nationally-televised by CBS Sports Network.

The game is one of three Bronco broadcasts by CBS Sports Network this season.

THE SERIES: The Broncos are 1-1 against the Falcons all-time. Saturday’s game will be the first played between the schools away from Taco Bell Arena in Boise.

EARLIER THIS SEASON: The Broncos dropped their inaugural MW game, falling 74-59 at home to Air Force, Jan. 14. The loss ended Boise State’s 15-game home winning streak, which was tied for the 11th-longest in the country.

Mike Fitzgerald scored 16 points and Taylor Broekhuis had 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead Air Force. Todd Fletcher added 13 points and Taylor Stewart chipped in 12 for the Falcons, who won their fifth-consecutive contest.

Jeff Elorriaga scored 12 points on four 3-pointers for Boise State, and Anthony Drmic (11) and Westly Perryman (10) also scored in double figures.

STARTING LINE-UPS: After using 11 different starting line-ups through the first 20 games of the season, the Broncos have stuck with the same five the last three games. Boise State used just eight different combinations during Leon Rice’s debut season with the Broncos in 2010-11.
